Adult Sunday Bible School

Join us Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall 10:00 a.m. for Sunday Bible School. The new quarter begins Sept.14, 2008. It's teaching the Bible for life.

Our SBS classes are numbered to give you an indication of the level of each course. 100 series classes are entry-level courses for the newcomer or new believer. In the 200 series classes, students are challenged to grow through five intermediate classes that cycle throughout the year.

The 300 level classes offer Bible electives from both Old and New Testaments, focusing on Bible books or themes. 400 series classes are periodically offered to focus thinking Christians on applying Biblical understanding to the culture and world we live in.

Here is a list of the current Adult SBS Classes. Click on the class title to learn more information about the class.

The class will include testimonies and Q/A with church leaders, discussion of our church's core beliefs and values, as well as opportunities for additional fellowship activities.  If you are newer to our church, or you just want to meet some of the people who are, this is the group for you!  Guests may start at any point during the quarter.

SBS 157  Teologia 1: Los Atributos de Dios
Maestro:  Miguel Godoy
Room B23

SBS 204 Who Am I? The Identity of the Believer in Christ
Teacher: Phil Awtry
Room B21

Who am I? Everyone has had to ask themselves that question at some point. Many people today are struggling with an "identity crisis," as they seek to answer the question through many different means. But for the Christian, the answer is very clearly contained in the Word - you are who God has made you. And knowing our true identity as believers is key to understanding how God desires us to live. Come join us as we explore some of the aspects of who God has made us through faith in His Son Jesus Christ. One thing is sure - if you are in Christ, you are not who you were!

SBS 307 Judges/Ruth
Teacher: Don Konrad
Room B24

Why would anyone want to study the prophet Amos? Amos's message is relevant, humbling, and at times, even frightening. The prophet preached in 8th century BC Israel, when affluence, exploitation and profit motive were the most notable features of the society. Sound like a society you know? Amos spoke to a people who were very religious, but he shows us that there is nothing so effective at separating us from God's Word and love... as religion. Amos is one of the most dynamic and exciting books in Scripture, yet it is also one of the most unfamiliar. So please join us as we study this prophet and discuss how to apply his words to our all-too-similar culture.

SBS 357  II Peter - Peteris Guide for Survival in a non-Christian World
Teacher: Bill Menke
Room B22

In 2 Peter 1:13 and again in 3:1 Peter says that he writes his letter to stir up his readers. They, like us, were living in a non Christian, often hostile world, where so called truth came in many assorted varieties. The way Peter chose to stir up these Christians was to remind them of certain facts; facts that all true believers need to know. The facts we Christians need to know fall under four general headings; we are to: (1.) Know our Salvation, (2.) Know our Scriptures, (3.) Know our Adversaries, and (4.) Know our Future. Equipped with such knowledge we will be able to live godly lives in the midst of a non Christian world. A Pretty impressive claim for an old fisherman! Come join us and see if Peterís second letter can deliver.
