God's Plan Of Salvation As Explained In The Bible

Why did Jesus, who is God's Son, come to earth?

To show God's love by giving His life as a sacrifice for our sin!

Romans 5:8 "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were yet sinners."
  • God loves us.
  • We are sinners and therefore headed for God's judgment upon sin. Romans 6:23
  • Christ died for us. (Literally, "in our place as a substitute")
How many ways are there to gain freedom from any sin so I can live in God's presence eternally?

There is only one way --- by trusting Jesus Christ for forgiveness and life!

John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me."

Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."
  • Jesus is the only way to God & the only means of eternal life.
  • We must call on God to save us in Jesus' name.
What must I do to be rescued from sin & have security of eternal life?

I must turn, in my mind and heart, from my own way of sinfulness and selfishness and turn to God's way in trust and submission.

Acts 3:19 "Now turn from your sins and turn to God, so you can be cleansed of your sins."

Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."
  • Turn from trust of self to trust in Jesus.
  • From my own sin and presumed goodness.
  • To God's gift of forgiveness and leadership of my life.
Isaiah 5:8 "All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on Him the guilt and sins of us all."

Isaiah 64:5-6 "But we are not godly. We are constant sinners, so Your anger is heavy on us. How can people like us be saved? We are all infected an impure with sin. When we proudly display our righteous deeds, we find they are but filthy rags."
  • Receive Jesus to live in your life by His Spirit as your Lord and Savior.
John 1:11-13 "All who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn!"

Galatians 2:19-20 "I have been crucified with Christ. I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

Can I have assurance about eternal life for myself and my loved ones?

Yes! God's promises are as secure as His perfect character. The one who accepts God's plan and the life of Jesus is eternally saved and secure!

I John 5:11-15 "This is what God has testified: He who given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have His Son does not have life. I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life."

(All verses are quoted from the New Living Translation.)
